Membership Requirements

Registration

Member companies will be required to enter into a contract with Biffpack on an annual or three yearly basis. Packaging data must be supplied each year and received in good time for the Scheme to check it and register it along with the Scheme on 7 April.

Where an obligated company wishes to join the scheme after that date due to a change in its circumstances or recognition that it has come within the thresholds in the previous year, Biffpack could accept that submission and would notify the relevant agency of the changes in its membership accordingly.

Registration will require payment of the membership fee and provision of the following:

• Information relating to packaging flows as required in Schedule 4 of the Regulations, to the accuracy approved by the Environment Agency
• Details of Group structure and Companies House information
• Details of PRNs that may be obtained by the member

Packaging Recovery Notes (PRNs)

Biffpack invoices for PRNs quarterly, two quarters in advance and two in arrears. Invoicing in this way allows us to continue to obtain the best possible price and charge at cost. At the end of the year we reconcile to establish the actual average price and credit the difference to members.

How to pay

All fees are payable on application, however in subsequent years the membership fee and subsidiary fees will be invoiced in January.
